Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This policy explains how Darul Ihsaan Barking ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data, in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect

  • Donations & Gift Aid: your name, email, phone, donation amount and fund; and, if you choose Gift Aid, your home address and postcode (required by HMRC).
  • Contact & event suggestions: any name, email and message you send us through our forms.
  • Administrators: for staff who manage the website, sign-in identity (email) and an activity log of content changes.
  • Technical: essential cookies and standard server logs needed to run the site securely. We use optional Google Analytics cookies only if you accept them, and never advertising cookies. See our Cookies Policy.

How and why we use it (lawful basis)

  • To process and acknowledge your donation and, where you consent, to claim Gift Aid — consent and legal obligation.
  • To respond to your enquiries and run our services and events — legitimate interests.
  • To keep proper financial and charity records — legal obligation.
  • To secure and administer the website — legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with trusted providers that help us operate, and where legally required:

  • HMRC — to claim Gift Aid on eligible donations.
  • Cloudflare — website hosting and database.
  • Microsoft — administrator sign-in and file storage (OneDrive).
  • Airtable — secure record-keeping of donations, enquiries and site activity.
  • Google — administrator sign-in and prayer-time scheduling.

How long we keep it

Gift Aid and financial records are kept for at least six years as required by HMRC. Other personal data is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, then securely deleted.
