Darul Ihsaan Barking Statement on the Humanitarian Crisis in Sudan

86 Longbridge Road, Barking, IG11 8SF | www.darulihsaanbarking.org.uk

Official Statement from Darul Ihsaan Barking

**

“Indeed, Allah commands justice, grace, as well as generosity to close relatives. He forbids indecency, wickedness, and aggression. He instructs you so perhaps you will be mindful.” (Qur’an 16:90)

Darul Ihsaan Barking expresses its deep sorrow and concern over the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe in Sudan, particularly in the city of El Fasher, North Darfur. Reports of mass killings, the targeting of civilians, and the discovery of mass graves paint a harrowing picture of suffering and injustice on a devastating scale.

Thousands of innocent men, women, and children have lost their lives, while millions have been displaced, facing starvation, disease, and violence. Communities are being destroyed, and access to vital humanitarian aid remains severely restricted.

We echo the calls made by humanitarian organisations and faith bodies, including the Muslim Council of Britain, for urgent international intervention. The United Kingdom and the global community must act now to:

  • Demand an immediate ceasefire and protection for civilians.
  • Ensure safe humanitarian corridors for the delivery of aid.
  • Hold those responsible for war crimes and atrocities to account.
  • Stop arms sales to UAE

As a community rooted in the principles of Revival, Advice and Invitation, Darul Ihsaan Barking urges our congregation and the wider public to:

  • Pray for peace, justice, and the protection of the people of Sudan.
  • Raise awareness of the ongoing atrocities.
  • Support humanitarian relief efforts through trusted charities providing aid on the ground.

At a time when human life is being so brutally disregarded, we are reminded of our shared duty to uphold compassion, justice, and the sanctity of every soul. May Allah bring peace to Sudan, ease the suffering of its people, and guide us all towards meaningful action.

Signed,

Imam & Management Committee
