Imam Ammaar

Imam Ammaar serves as the Chairman at Darul Ihsaan Barking, demonstrating a profound dedication to both community engagement and Islamic education. Raised in East London, he attended Brampton Manor Academy and then graduated with Honours in History from Queen Mary University of London. Furthering his academic pursuits, he earned a Master’s in Sharia, complemented by extensive private studies such completing his Dars e Nizami, he also obtained multiple ijazahs in various Quranic recitations. 

Imam Ammaar is known for his deep scholarly engagement, having earned ijazahs to teach a wide range of texts studied from his teachers—from beginner to advanced levels—across different subjects in the traditional Islamic sciences.

At Darul Ihsaan, Imam Ammaar is integral to daily mosque activities, particularly known for his teachings on the Quran and Fiqh during Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers. His practical and engaging approach to education promotes a deeper understanding and appreciation of Islamic principles among attendees.

Beyond his religious responsibilities, Imam Ammaar nurtures diverse interests, including a passion for fast cars and an avid reading habit that spans various genres, guided by his motto: “Read everything once.”

Fun Fact: He also enjoys traveling and maintains a notable collection of Air Jordan 1s (… size 9).
